Eastern Consolidated Finds Second Location for Popular Upper West Side Diner
NEW YORK, NY – May 15, 2017 – Viand Café, a popular Upper West Side family diner that has operated in the Hotel Beacon at 2130 Broadway for over 15 years, is opening a second location at 517 Columbus Avenue.
The restaurant is taking a 1,856-square-foot space at the corner of 85th Street and Columbus Avenue that was previously occupied by Jackson Hole restaurant, which closed last year after operating for 42 years at the site.
Eastern Consolidated’s Associate Director Ben Biberaj and Senior Director Harris Bulow represented Viand Café in negotiating the 15-year lease for the retail space, which offers 70 feet of wraparound frontage and a 490-square-foot basement. Rafe Evans and Eric Fisher of Walker Malloy & Company Inc. represented the landlord, Shared Equities LLC.
“Viand Café has a tremendous following, which we discovered after learning that the owner of 517 Columbus Avenue had been a regular at the diner every week for years,” Bulow said.
Biberaj agreed, “The fact that the landlord patronized the Viand Café was the deciding factor in getting this deal done because he knows firsthand that it’s a great restaurant with terrific food.”
Open from 7 am to 12 am daily, Viand Café offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The owner also operates the Viand Coffee Shop at 673 Madison Avenue, which has been serving New York’s “Fashion & Social Elite” for over 40 years. More information is available at http://www.viandnyc.com.
